EMBANKMENT SLIDE

Large embankment slide running down from the playing field area to the apple orchard and wild flower area to the rear of the tranquil garden.

The Community Park was created with funding from the Countryside Agency via the "Door-step Green" project and with the help of lots of volunteers, lots of planning and work and the donation of many plants.

The result was a community park providing:

  • a tranquil garden (see pictured top left)
  • small children's play area
  • cob & wood youth shelter (see pictured middle left during construction)
  • large embankment slide (see pictured bottom left)
  • bmx track
  • hard surface basket ball court/playground
  • amphitheatre seating up to 70 people
  • improved boundary hedging and fencing
  • orchard and wild flower area
  • planters and benches
  • rubbish and dog bins

The park is still being improved and is maintained by volunteers.

Gardening volunteers and donations of perennial plants and shrubs are always welcome.
