CODE OF CONDUCT FOR USERS OF THE SUNNINGMEAD COMMUNITY CENTRE PDF Print E-mail

So that Sunningmead remains a happy and safe place for all those involved with it, we all need to do all we can to make sure difficulties are avoided wherever possible.

Every person who visits or works at the Centre has the right to expect:

  • Respect for themselves as an individual
  • Equal treatment regardless of race, skin colour, gender, age, religion, cultural beliefs, special needs, sexuality or medical status
  • Inclusion and involvement with the activities of the Centre without prejudice or discrimination

Every person who visits or works at the Centre is therefore asked to think carefully about their own conduct regarding:

  • Other indiviuals and groups of people who may be discriminated against in the wider community
  • Health and safety - it is everyone's responsibility to be aware of how their own actions or omissions may put someone else in danger
  • Language and behaviour which may make others feel nervous or threatened in any way

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU READ AND UNDERSTAND THE CENTRE POLICIES WHICH CAN BE FOUND ON THE CENTRE NOTICEBOARD AND ASK FOR MORE EXPLANATION IF YOU ARE IN DOUBT ABOUT ANYTHING.

The following behaviours will not be tolerated at the Centre and will result in the exclusion of anyone carrying them out:

  1. Violence or aggression - verbal or physical
  2. Discriminatory language or harrassment of any kind
  3. Theft from, or wilful damage to, property of the Centre, its users, members, volunteers or staff
  4. Inappropriate use of alcohol or drunkeness
  5. The use or possession of illegal drugs on the Centre premises or grounds
  6. Inappropriate use of the social space/ongoing disruptive behaviour which interfers with the provision of services
